/// Resources

To provide high-quality translation, we work with some of the best freelance Portuguese translators and revisers. In addition, we use the most modern technical resources, enabling us to increase our productivity and maintain the quality of the work we deliver.

External providers

We select our external translators based on three main factors: an awareness of the specificities of technical translation, excellent writing skills and a willingness to continuously learn from each project. These details are assessed through CV analyses, personal interviews and translation tests.

We count on a team of more than 50 freelance translators, most of whom have been working with us for over 10 years. All of these translators have at least 5 years' experience in translation and/or have a university degree in Translation.

We have a very close relationship with one of the best translator training schools in Portugal, the University of Porto's Faculty of Arts. The quality of its training in this area is proven by the fact that its Master’s in Translation programme was one of only 34 courses integrated into the European Master’s in Translation network. Every year, TIPS welcomes a student from this Master’s programme to work at our company as a trainee translator.

Technical resources

Our office is fully networked, operating at the highest speed available. This means that resources are shared with no delays. Our Internet connection is provided by one of the best ISPs on the market, which provides us with high-speed professional services. Our server runs on a secure architecture, allowing for the flexible management of communication and file operations.

We continue to specialise in computer-assisted translation (CAT) and localisation tools. For over a decade, we have been working on a daily basis with tools such as SDLX, Trados Workbench and SDL Trados Studio. Besides these, SDL Passolo, Alchemy Catalyst, GlobalLink TransStudio, Microsoft LocStudio, Microsoft Helium, and Lionbridge Translation Workspace are all tools that play a part in our daily routines. Therefore, we are able to easily work on translation and software localisation projects alike, with any tool that is required to guarantee the safe delivery of translated content to clients, so that it can be smoothly integrated into their workflows.
